Why Cofferdam exists
Work gets done, then the invoice waits.
A CV says anything. Nobody checks.
An agency takes its cut for making the introduction.
We think the work itself should be the credential. Not a reference, not a promise, not who you know.
Finish a job and someone who was there signs off. That signature becomes a line on your record that nobody can buy, edit, or take away. That’s Cofferdam.
No bank decides. No cut of your pay.
No taking anyone’s word for it.
Nothing. There's no subscription, no fee per application, and no commission taken from your pay. Whoever hires you pays a flat 2% on top — the amount you agree to is the amount that reaches you.
No. You sign in with your face, balances show in dollars, and you never buy a token or pay a network fee. The technology underneath is the same rail banks are starting to use, but you don't have to think about it any more than you think about the wiring behind a card reader.
Two things. Every account is tied to one real passport, so nobody can run ten profiles. And a job only becomes “proven” when it has actually settled and the person who paid has signed off on it. Faking a history would mean paying for real jobs with real money under a passport you can only use once — which is more expensive than simply doing the work.
To confirm you're one real adult human, and nothing more. Your phone reads the chip and produces a mathematical proof of that single fact. We never receive your name, photo, or date of birth, and the passport itself never leaves your device.
Your skills, a rough area rather than an address, the languages you speak, and how many jobs you've proven. That's it. Your name, CV file, past employers, and exact location stay private — your location is only shared with a single hirer after you accept their job. Messages are end-to-end encrypted, so we can't read them either.
Turn the switch off and you disappear from search immediately. Nothing about you stays published, and your proven history is still there waiting whenever you switch back on.
No, and not because we promise not to. Our servers only ever hold your account number and a public key used to check your signature — never your recovery phrase, never your private keys, and never your funds. There's no button on our side that moves your money.
Your investment account works in other apps — Base App, MetaMask, a hardware wallet — because you hold its recovery phrase. Take it and go whenever you like. There's no closure form, no notice period, and no exit fee. Your proven work history is yours to keep as well.
It stays under your control at all times, but Cofferdam is not a bank and does not take deposits. The investment account is not a savings account and is not FDIC-insured. Money you choose to put to work can lose value, and you could get back less than you put in. Nothing in the app is financial advice — you decide what to do, and you can withdraw at any time.
Yes, and it's the same account — there's no separate app. Describe the job in a sentence, name a price, and confirm. Matched workers get notified, and the money only releases once you approve the work.
